According to a July 9 report from The Block, the Ethereum site with nearly 100,000 USDC stable funds has been blacklisted by CENTER, the body that advertises the USDC. Market access seen by blockchain browser Etherscan reported that on June 16, CENTER owner address: 0x5dB0115f3B72d19cEa34dD697cf412Ff86dc7E1b called the "blacklist (business address)" function. According to the Circle website, black addresses cannot be traded (received or sent) on USDC smart contracts. The circle added that any USDC black address balance would be "irreversible" permanently. It is unknown what caused the name blacklist feature to be activated, but in the Etherscan text section of the separate address associated with the black address, users claim that the owner of the address tells them stole the chips.
