According to Decrypt, the introduction of the Chia cryptocurrency has boosted sales in the European hard drive market. According to a report by research firm Context, sales of storage drives larger than 10TB reached 200,000 in April 2021, up 240% from the previous year. Sales of consumer NAS hard drives increased 167% year-on-year to 250,000 units.
