Deutsche Telekom invests in blockchain payment platform Celo

Deutsche Telekom announced on Tuesday that it had invested in the blockchain payment platform Cello, according to Reuters. The platform allows mobile phones to access “financial management” functions and enables users of all traditional financial companies. The company did not disclose the amount of the investment. Deutsche Telekom has also purchased Celo digital tokens to use on the platform. Deutsche Telekom said given the size of the investment, changes in the price of the Celo token would not have a significant impact on performance.
