Bank of England announces central bank digital currency merger with Department of Finance

According to an announcement by Golden Ten, the Bank of England today announced that it will jointly form a working group for the Department of Finance and the Central Bank's digital currency. The government and the Bank of England are yet to decide whether or not to introduce a digital bank in the UK and will be engaging with stakeholders about the benefits, risks and potential.
