Kia Motors ransomware attack demands $ 30 million Bitcoin ransom from hackers

According to the CryptoPotato report, ransomware group DoppelPaymer announced another attack, this time revealing sensitive data from Kia Motors' North American headquarters, KMA. Violators demand bitcoins to pay the ransom, and the total ransom can reach 600 bitcoins (over US $ 30 million). KMA said the company is facing "computer interference with insiders, vendors and customers" and is working hard to resolve these issues. Bond ransom ransomware DoppelPaymer claimed he stole the KMA system. Records also show that the perpetrator seized Hyundai Motor America, the parent company of Kia Motors, but there is no clear evidence to prove this. The group created a Tor page in which the victim claimed to have stolen "a lot of data" and threatened to release the data within two to three weeks if the KMA did not pay the ransom.
