Brian Armstrong: Buying Neutrino is a mistake.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said the acquisition of Neutrino, run by a hacking group, in March 2019 was a mistake. It has been reported that key members of Neutrino are linked to an Italian group called Hacking Team, known to sell spyware to countries like Saudi Arabia. He cut some of the company members and continued to improve and deliver blockchain analysis software to the DEA and IRS. When paying taxes to the IRS, Coinbase uses blockchain analysis software to deduct part of the tax deduction. The revenue from this software is only a small fraction of Coinbase's total revenue, and Coinbase wants to release it for free, but it is blocked by the US government.
