According to Cryptonews, the Russian Attorney General's Office has worked hard to get government officials to disclose crypto assets. Attorney General Igor Krasnov confirmed in an interview that the new decision will come into effect in early 2021, when the new law on digital and crypto assets is announced. Krasnov said some scammers have started to hide their illegal income by converting it into cryptocurrency. He added that Russian courts do not take into account the value of cryptocurrencies, but can be considered assets. Therefore, officials are required to report cryptocurrency income and the future of their assets. He also said that tracking undeclared crypto assets can be difficult, but in law finding "bitcoin" is no easier than finding "gray" cash transactions. Igor Krasnov said that "(important) assessments often require the capacity of (legal) institutions and financial intelligence bodies," said Igor Krasnov.
