Everledger raises $ 7 million in loans from UK government and Tencent

London-based blockchain research firm Everledger has announced that it has raised $7 million in loans from UK government Finance Futures and Chinese tech giant Tencent. Everledger CEO Leanne Kemp said she would announce a partnership with a Chinese e-commerce company later this year. Meanwhile, the company is announcing an upgrade to the Everledger platform to support the diamond industry's recovery as COVID-19 looms large. It was previously reported that in September last year, Tencent joined Everledger's $20 million Series A financial plan to develop the world's first WeChat applet for tracking blockchain gems.
