Ahead of the September 30 news, Brian Armstrong posted an article on October 15 urging Coinbase to focus on growing its business and staying away from social and political issues. The remarks that followed caused discontent between the company's content employees and other employees. Coinbase Vice President Yu Dan later resigned and 5% of Coinbase employees were compensated.
