On October 16, Coindesk announced that the Nigerian government was developing a plan to promote the country's adoption of the national cryptocurrency with a view to creating the "Nigerian digital". The US Department of Communications and Digital Economy and the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) are involved in a national blockchain roadmap.
