According to a Polkadot announcement on October 15, blockchain technology developer Interlay will complete the BTC chain in the first quarter of 2021 with a refund from the Web3 Foundation. Parachain's first alpha testnet will be released in November 2020 and a beta will be released in January 2021. In March, the Web3 Foundation announced funding for Interlay. Interlay's main role was to create a "BTC parachain" based on the Polkadot blockchain, allowing users to create their Bitcoin, PolkaBTC 1: 1 assets in the Polkadot blockchain.
