According to CoinDesk, the European Central Bank (ECB) filed for a “Digital Euro” trademark on September 22, but has not yet adopted. ECB officials have yet to comment on the digital euro currency and euro area banks will continue to study the issue as an alternative to cryptocurrencies.

As reported by cryptonews, a statement by Deutsche Bank Financial Management's Chief Investment Office (CIO) demanded a fact-check before being passed bank-wide. CBDCs present a number of challenges, starting with management's interference with existing processes and procedures. A more viable problem is that CBDCs have not been over-tested and it is not clear how reliable it is when it comes to short-term investments and investment gains, problems or accidents. Blockchain-based release mechanisms are not yet powerful enough to control large exports. The reason CBDCs do not indicate size is because it is not known what will happen when CBDCs work with the traditional financial system.
