According to CoinDesk on September 9, a group of Venezuelan legal advisers said the government had banned users from accessing the U.S. cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and the MercaDolar fiat exchange. The exact purpose and outcome of the government's decision is unclear, but ISPs are involved in the shutdown.
