On September 9, Cryptonews announced that some well-known Japanese media companies have partnered with blockchain technology experts to develop a blockchain-based digital content distribution ecosystem. The organization, called the Japan Content Blockchain Initiative (JCBI), was launched earlier this year with seven members. The most prominent of these are Hakuhodo, one of the largest corporations in the world, and Asahi Shimbun, the publisher and owner of one of Japan's largest newspapers. Japan-based broadcaster Dentsu has joined forces, according to a new announcement, with real estate expert Avex Technologies and blockchain consultancy firm SingulaNet. The program now performs two main tasks. The first is a video and TV distribution platform that uses blockchain technology. The second is the personalized protection service for a wide range of digital content.
