Security Company: Lazarus Hackers Attack LinkedIn Crypto and Blockchain Job Seekers

According to an Aug. 25 report by Finnish cybersecurity and privacy firm F-Secure, North Korean-backed hacking group Lazarus is using LinkedIn, an expert forum, to attack cryptocurrency and blockchain at the looking for a job. According to the report, the attack was triggered by the announcement of cryptocurrency-related activity on the site. According to their research, job seekers in the blockchain industry are receiving phishing scams based on legitimate blockchain job titles. The message contains an MS Word document called "BlockVerify Group Job Description" which, when opened, executes bad macro code.
