ConsenSys acquires Blockchain Platform group from JP Morgan

Technology firm ConsenSys on Tuesday acquired the Quorum blockchain platform, owned by JPorgan Chase & Co., Reuters reported. Umar Farooq, global blockchain manager at JP Morgan, said in an interview that the board will stay at JPorgan to support the exchange for next year, working on other blockchain operations.

In a statement on Tuesday, cryptocurrency provider BitGo filed a complaint with the New York Department of the Treasury (NYDFS) for services in New York state, Coindesk reported. Once approved, the company intends to operate as an independent regulator under the National Bank Act.
