On August 20, Bitcoin.com announced that the South African financial institution (FSCA) had investigated South African investment firm Bitcoin MTI. The FSCA said MTI's current industry model requires financial services licenses and is more concerned with the operations of venture capital firms. MTI claims to have more than $ 168 million in consumer money in its stock market, but management cannot confirm the accuracy of the funds. The FSCA report also said the company was investigating existing cases and South African police would intervene if there were any issues. MTI is committed to informing all clients of the research and giving each client a chance to recoup their resources. In response, the FSCA is asking consumers to request a refund to their account as soon as possible.
