The battle for clear control over the cryptocurrency market continues as Ripple Inc and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) battle it out in court. Ripple took issue with the recent SEC decision. Ripple believes this request is simply an attempt to prolong the matter and does not reconcile. Ripple's jury also pointed out that when the SEC had enough time to gather information before making a decision, it failed. They argue that they cannot allow the SEC to act now because it violated the law before. (Currency Show)

Polymarket restarted the website, but banned the United States from doing business.
Gambling platform Polymarket has returned online just three weeks after being fined by regulators and ordered to shut down the business, Golden Financial warns. However, residents in the United States could not trade on the site, the company said in an email Monday. Polymarket said it would continue to block U.S. consumer businesses "from going through regulatory processes and focusing on the business going forward." Earlier this month, Polymarket announced a commercial venture called Airdrop Futures, allowing scientists to track and market airdrop capabilities. US merchants are also not permitted to use these features. As previously reported, on January 3, the Future Trade Corporation (CFTC) fined Polymarket $1.4 million and ordered it to close the store and issue full refunds to customers. (Change machine)
