According to documents from the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Australian cryptocurrency miner Iris Energy (IREN) has signed a joint venture agreement with electricity supplier AEP TEXAS to certify that it is is the Texas-based Golden Finance cryptocurrency miner. With a capacity of 600 MW, the total capacity is 765 MW (~22 PE/S1) and Iris Energy paid $19 million in contract and collective costs. The Texas data center is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2023, and the facility will increase Iris Energy's total hash value to 15.2 PE/s in 2023, the miner said. (Change machine)
