Golden Financial has reported that the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has fined Australian Craig Sproule for making false statements about unregistered ICOs. The lawsuit alleges that Sproule and its two companies, Crowd Machine and Metavine, have filed ICOs for Crowd Machine Compute Tokens (CMCT). The publication period runs from January to April 2018. The SEC alleges that Sproule and Crowd Machine traded $ 5.8 million for the South African gold miner without notifying investors. The SEC also argued that the sale of CMCT created recognition of the unregistered title and that Sproule and his company deliberately sold the tokens without deciding whether the entrepreneurs were worthwhile investors.
