Meta Express preview of haptic gloves, VR meta edge closer to reality

On November 18, Meta stepped straight into virtual reality to preview the development of new haptic gloves and provide a glimpse into the digital world. At the end of October, Facebook changed its name to Meta and changed its affiliate focus to metaverse development and VR technology. In a November 16 blog post, Mehta announced the latest developments in tactile research gloves by technology company VR Reality Labs, notes that the product has been in development for seven years. The company posted a video of two people trying on tactile gloves in a metaverse demo, with two fingers crossed, picking up blocks, throwing balls, holding hands, hitting dominoes and playing with the blocks. Meta reported that the gloves rely on light transmissions to send "correct information" to actuators in hand. This information is relevant to tracking technology and can identify the operations and properties of virtual objects in the meta-world. (Co-manager)
