On September 3, the DFINITY Internet Computing Project (ICP) announced 10,000 NFT storytellers called ICPunks as the Free Internet for testing systems and measuring applications. According to DFINITY, the experiment was a success because a similar overhaul makes the system unlike any other platform the platform crashes on. The name of IC Punks and the clown-themed NFT series come from the 1990s hip-hop show Insane Clown Posse. Dfinity plans to enter the field of unique NFT tokens via airdrop, and in the third quarter of 2021 plans to establish an ICPunks business where users can trade, buy and sell NFTs for ICP tokens.
