According to CoinDesk on August 11, Binance reported that the Liechtenstein Authority (FMA) blocked CEO Changpeng Zhao from joining the Union Bank leadership of the ineligible board. A Binance spokesperson denied that the exchange was affected by the FMA and said he had not used it as an exchange for a key Union Bank member. Previously, The Block reported that Liechtenstein financial advisers rejected Union Bank's request to hire Changpeng Zhao as a member.
