Is Musk the “Master of the Hype” or the “King of Tech”?

His love of hype aside, Musk's trailblazer in many areas is unmistakable.

During Tesla AI Day in August 2021, Musk announced that he would develop a robot called Tesla Bot (codename Optimus), with a design in 2022.

Tesla has undergone many major changes this year, and at the end of the year, we took a look at how some of Musk's most dangerous plans have played out to date.

Tesla also announced the all-electric Model S Plaid this year, which can hit speeds of up to 60 miles per hour and 200 miles per hour in two seconds, making it the largest car in history. Tesla currently produces 1 million vehicles per year and is still developing many businesses, the company is growing stronger and its inventory has skyrocketed.

First, let's take a look at Tesla robots. This 5ft 8ft robot is designed to weigh 125 pounds and can carry 45 pounds and walk at speeds of up to 5 miles per hour. The robot has five fingers on each hand and performs tasks that people find "boring, repetitive and dangerous". To build these robots, Tesla would have to use a variety of sensors, connectors, brakes, and certain technologies derived from autopilot technology (FSD) and Tesla intelligence.

马斯克到底是“炒作大师”还是“技术之王”?

Tesla supporters, who immediately got a big boost, predict that by 2022 Tesla will lead us to the 'Better World'. When Tesla launched Solar Roof in the light of the American television series "Living Housewives" in 2016, it was this group (like some media) that came to support it.

Fast forward to 2021, and it turns out that Solar Roof is a product that has grown quickly and poorly, so Tesla is making a lot of money, but not benefiting consumers.

Musk is also committed to recognizing “Fully Autonomous Driving (FSD),” particularly far from the highest level of Grade 5 autonomous driving five years ago. As of 2021, FSD is still at Level 2 and Tesla is required to report this in a letter to the California Department of Motor Vehicles.

1,Promise I can't, autonomous taxi

Musk also promised not, announcing that by 2019 and 2020 Tesla will have one million self-driving taxis. But what we are seeing is not a car that just picks up passengers and makes money for its owner, but a “smart call” feature that has no independence at all.

Shortly after the launch of the “Smart Summon” feature, a number of complaints were received from users, including the discovery of models and car accidents that cost thousands of dollars. However, Musk maintains that there is still room for improvement in this regard.

However, this is just one example. Self-proclaimed "technoking by Tesla" (Tesla's technoking), Musk has made too many broken promises, and there are now many websites that specialize in writing those promises.

2,"Thunder, me nag"

Musk always does his best, but it usually ends with "a little thunder and rain". It was once said that “Tesla cars are half-sensing robots with wheels”. But this is not true. Tesla has yet to create the "smart summon" feature, and it doesn't make any sense yet, except for FSD.

These shortcomings will be more evident when the Tesla robots are actually designed. The robot's eye uses the same camera as Tesla's autopilot capability, and its body is equipped with a computer with FSD capability. So this is also an FSD feature that drivers still have to be prepared to maintain. Otherwise, collisions and errors will occur.

Finally, driving a car is much easier than a robot. In order to understand and interact with their environment, robots (especially human robots) must use a variety of sensors to perform reverse kinematics, servo systems, brakes, and various maneuvers.

For Tesla robots to be used in harsh environments, they are unlikely to achieve a major breakthrough in 2022, as the system is still under development and even proves to be insufficient.

People are hoping for Tesla robots if they can go to the grocery store and buy theirs. However, given the current performance of FSD, these robots could be hit by humans, hit by vehicles, or have accidents on the road. Getting lost or tripped while calculating your route Falls and damage. I don't think Tesla robots will pose a threat to humans, they are just a distraction.

Three,Less hype, but Musk is still a good engineer.

Getting the robot to walk in a straight line and judge the terrain itself is a big deal. Boston Dynamics and Agility Robotics took a long time to resolve this issue. The end result is impressive, but the process is long and difficult and shows how difficult it can be. It is to solve this problem. Musk can fix this, but his past performance has made it impossible for him to be completed next year.

Does that mean the Tesla robots won't leave? not sure. Musk put a lot of effort into doing the reality work he does, and he's excelled at engineering rather than advocacy. In fact, if there had been less hype about Tesla robots, the tone of this sentence would have been completely different.

The robot hype has inflated the Tesla share price, covering the news concerns, uncertainty and skepticism in depth, leaving investors weak and interested in new technologies for Tesla robotics work. In many places you can see that Musk has always been a pioneer and has done the same in robotics. Robots have been around for a long time in consumer and industrial applications, but Tesla robots will never be available again.

Musk believes the announcement of the Tesla robot model may leave fans frustrated with issues like model delays or malfunctions, but it will still solve many research issues on the robots' current performance in the process. Turn the hype around the Tesla robot into the power that makes the robot truly upgrade.

4,Time is more precise

In Tesla's robotics research class, Tesla could possibly become the first company to develop such a robot, but Musk's request for a delay was bogus.

So when is the real time?

Raj Rajkumar, professor of electricity and computer science at Carnegie Mellon University, asked these questions in an interview with Reuters. He replied: "I can believe that 10 years will not be enough for a robot from one company of the world to market you."
